new build and refurbishment projects. Our services cover the following
key areas:
Structural Fire Protection - Insulating a steel or concrete structure
from the effects of fire.
Compartmentation - Insulating walls and ceilings in firebreak sub-divisions
to prevent the spread of fire to and from another part of the building.
Firestopping - Preventing the passage of fire and smoke through
gaps in construction joints or holes cut for services.
Structural Fire Protection
Systems to protect the main structure and integral members from collapse
for a specified period of time:
Intumescent coatings: (for up to 90 minute protection)
These specialist paints react and expand at high temperatures to insulate
steel.
Water-based intumescent paints: providing cost-effective, aesthetic
and environmentally friendly protection in internal situations.
Solvent-based intumescent paints: primarily used in external situations.
Board systems: (for up to 4 hour protection)
Rigid boards: for encasing structural members.
Mineral fibreboards: for application in areas where an aesthetic result
is not required.
Fire Compartmentation
Systems to prevent the spread of fire between divisions of a building:
Firewall/shaftwall
Firebarriers: in both flexible and mineral fibre.
Firestopping: to reinstate fire integrity where apertures have
been made in the fabric of the building, e.g. after the installation of
service cabling. Products applied include: intumescent mastics, strips
and seals; batts; coatings and compounds.
